Today's reading in the...Reading the bible...thread above in the stickies . We read chapter 2 today . I think it's important to beware of false teaching in the times we live in . There has always been those who take advantage of us through lies to gain wealth , power or lead us astray for Satan's benefit . 2 Peter 2 is a warning and a guide . I think it a 'must read' for those of faith to be aware . These are the last two lines of chapter two .

21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit, and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

There is nothing BUT false teachings these days, and the primary thrust and attitude of most people, professed believers included, is one of nihlistic contemptuosness and cynicism. A nation with that as its effective "mascot" is not long for its existence, and will suffer the due consequences of its own folly and abandonment of the Truth. God help us!
