I prefer to shoot my milsurps with rifle powder. I use that NOE version of 316299 in mine sized to .315. It is powder coated and gas checked. I've had great luck using W748 and IMR 4350.

For those shooters with 7.65 1891 Argentine Mauser Rifles
The load data shown in The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 3rd Edition was developed in this model .

The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition has data worked up in M1909 Argentine Mauser .

If you have the older manual #3 you can use it to load for the model 1891 .
Data shown in #3 for Lyman # 311299 / 200 grain RN GC
    Red Dot powder :
    Start. - 9.5 @ 1260 fps

    Maximum - 12.5 grs. @1490 fps

Not quite "The Load" but almost and pretty darn close to it .

If that was a sporterized rifle, okay. Except the Turned down bolt and shorter barrel was intended for the tankers and engineers. Your's may have been spoterterized, but not done so by the factory / word

I knew I saw that “the load” had something posted about not being used in the 1891 Argentine!!

Second paragraph after #4. What gives?
