Cool project.
Can you put a automatic trigger on it for when ya can't be there and watch?

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.

Back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
I watched several videos on these hog traps last year. When the motion sensor activates it would ring the trappers phone so he could watch the trap and when the whole herd was inside he would close the gate or gates. Then call his buddies and they would drive out to ‘eliminate’ the entire herd. Fish in a barrel would be the correct term I think.
Every time we get a batch in the trap above (got 12 Tue) it takes about 2 weeks for them to trust the location again.
So I finished a more mobile trap yesterday, that took 22 min to setup and 26 to take down and load on a trailer (if I am alone next time I’ll just lay them flat).
I already have a feeder going where they are acclimated to entry and exit through two small holes in the panels. Should have it online tomorrow.
Kewl..........
Very cool Mr. Morris!!! Are you going into the Pork Business?

We have just been killing them, remove the back strap and feeding the rest to buzzards.
With this trap we might start hauling them to the buying station. Couldn’t get the trailer to the trap in the woods in the OP.
As long as they are not tearing up our hay meadows I don’t care what happens to them but a little money to cover costs would be nice.
Whoever thought of deliberately turning them loose ought to be horse whipped. Must be related to the guy who thought kudzu was pretty and the greedy South American beekeeper who wanted more honey so lets try some African bees.
Had a buddy that wanted some meat so we trapped 5 Saturday evening.
No way would you want to let them go after being trapped, difficult enough to get them acclimated to them once.
jmorris-Sounds like you need to start a sausage company! Organic free range pork. Sold only in the finest metropolitan locations. Minneapolis PD could've used something like that a couple of weeks ago. Bait it with free stuff.
In Ga and SC you will be prosecuted to the full extent of very strict law about tramsporting feral hogs. And they are serious about it.

If I load up and haul any of them, it will be to one of these places to sell them.
