Today was the day! I finally got the led pot fired up with some linotype lead that I obtained and started pouring some 00 buck with the Lee mold. Once everything was up to temperature, it went quite well. I didn't tumble the 00 buck too much yet because I was anxious to get a couple of shells together. The rest will be tumbling soon.
I am using a run of the mill Lee Precision II reloader and BPI load BKL1210224272
- 2 3/4" Fiocchi hulls.
- 24 grains of RedDot.
- PT1251 wad.
- 2 x 3 stack of my own 00 buckshot.
- 1/8" 20 gauge felt pad.
- Overshot card
The first crimp didn't go too well and I was unsure why. I found that I had not formed the 6 fold crease as deep as I should have. I peeled it back and reformed it and it crimped great.
These 2x6 00 buck loads are what I call "Girl" loads for my wife's Mossburg 500. being of smaller stature, I can't expect her to shoot 15 pellet 00 buck more than 1 time ever.
I was pleased with the end result.
