    Hello Friends;

    Ingots too big for pot.
    What is the best way to cut these into smaller chunks
    that will fit into my Lee pot??

    Port a band saw works pretty good, just catch the filings.

    Tree stump and a hand ax/hatchet.
    Most of the tanks are gone and the windows don't rattle anymore. I won't be able to sleep now.

    Hello All:

    Think a wood splitter would chomp these up??

    I've used my sabre saw with a coarse, metal cutting blade. Worked better than I expected.

    Yes I do. Might need to put a board behind the ingot since the ram doesn’t usually contact the wedge.

    If it's soft enough, I've used a small machete tapped through with a 2lb sledge, set on a large piece of wood.

    Sawz-All with a coarse blade works good. If you use a saw of any type, lube the blade with some bees wax.

    I have used an automotive air chisel. It does a real nice job.

    I assume our mean a bar. Just put one end into the pot, melt what you want and use channel locks to pull out the excess.
    Whatever!

    Yes. The wedge will slow as it penetrates and it helps to put the lead on a narrow steel block aligned with the wedge to give the 2 pieces a place to go.

    To all my friend who offered up such good suggestions thanks much.
    I will be trying the wood splitter method as soon as I can fix a flat tire on the splitter.
    I'll keep you informed.
