Any interest in bulk tin purchase?

I have connection in Malaysia and have been thinking for years now about trying to put together a bulk tin purchase and looking into what would be involved as far as shipping and how much would have to be purchased to get price break to make it worthwhile and if I could get it in manageable size castings. Is this something anyone might be interested in? I'm not looking to get rich and make a bunch of money off this it would give me something meaningful to do if the numbers work. It may turn out that its the same price as Nuclead or rotometals have no idea till I look into it

As a guess people won't want to commit until or unless you can give an estimate of the price. Five years back I'd have jumped at the opportunity. But... I've had apparently extra good luck in finding pewter.
Just a thought, importing decorative plates that happen to stack really well, might be a better deal than bulk metal. It depends on tariffs.

my connection will be going back there in a month or so and then has to be in quarantine for at least two weeks maybe in that time he can contact his local business connections there for me. market price is just under $8 lb about 1/2 what it was just a few years ago.

I might be interested. I'd want to have an idea about prices first though. You could probably get estimates at different levels of weight. Maybe 500lbs, 1000lbs and 10,000lbs just to get an idea of how the prices might stack up.

I would be interested in this operation. I would be willing to buying more than I could use just to make this work. I once had to buy 50 sets of .32 NAA dies to get Lee to make some.

my Malaysia connection is still here in the states, in fact I just got some messages from him this morning his return trip has been delayed and said he will look into it but says reality on the ground is that many of the tin mines are shut down and bulk of tin production is in china. its not looking so good. but he said he will try to hook me up with the right people there.

it not happening. not from Malaysia anyway. Covid has the country on a military shutdown for the most part and tin production is now almost exclusively a Chinese enterprise.
