Gonna have to finally get me a hollow point mold.

Cosmic Charlie, I like the Lyman devastator. With red PC boolits there is no mistaking it’s loaded...

I own a Ruger 77/44 and Ruger 44 Carbine as well.

    I had high hopes for the new S&W 69 L-frame ( 357mag sized) 5 shot 44

It had sticky extraction, even with 44 special bunny farts.

Sent it back to S&W and they returned it - "tests ok, re-finished frame"

    Still had sticky extraction

    called back mad as hell.

S&W lady said she'd "have one of her good techs look at it"

I said shouldn't all your techs be good !?!?!?

Got it back the 2nd time, and promptly sold it at a gunshow.

I know that feeling. "I'll have our best guy Howard look at it". Only to have it come back in worse condition than when I sent it.

I always remember shooting a friends M28 which he had Clements bore out to a .44 Special. A factory can’t mass produce what a custom shop can make.

I have toured the Smith & Wesson factory and was very impressed. I was shown the new machinery which would rifle barrels in the manner done on the M69. The man giving me the tour said that he was not qualified to explain the process of how the new rifling was done. I am not a machinist or a gunsmith or a craftsman.

Only 2 left. A standard sbh from early 1980's and a little bit of an odd 4.625 sbh from the mid 90's. Ordered 5.5 model to get fluted cylinder. Came in with a circular groove cut completely through the rifling approximately 1 inch from the muzzle and another forwarf of the forcing cone. Returned to Ruger and requested replacement barrel be 4.625 instead of 5.5. No argument, no questions, returned 3 wks later with 4.625 barrel. So 'custom' gun with shorter barrel and fluted cylinder. No pictures - can't upload to this site.

I have taken to searching for older revolvers. Just picked up a minty 1956 4" combat masterpiece today from my ffl. Pristine bore and cylinder with .357 throats. Should be a keeper and cost $670 all up.

And there are plenty of things to shoot that don't require a magnum.
