1. Clean off what you can.
2. Put it outside and turn it on.
3. Come back inside and hang out here awhile, or sit outside and watch it from up-wind.
It will fix itself.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
This ain't your Grandma's sewing circle.
EVERYONE!
Back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
Don't worry about it! Remember greasy clip on weights are commonly smelted into ingots.
Oil in the pot is called flux.
Don't run it totally empty of lead. Is there lead in it now? A couple inches covers most of the element. The pot can overheat with too little alloy. It's in both manuals.

Mal Paso means Bad Pass, just so you know.
It's OK !
Wipe out as much as you can...oil will smoke , oiled sawdust is used as a flux by some .
Put some metal in it because it's not good to run a pot when it's empty , 1/2 full is good .
Set the pot outside where a little smoke wont bother anyone .
Plug in the pot , the metal will heat up , melt and the oil will burn off .
When everything stops smoking it's burnt off ... let cool and you done.

Set it outside and turn it on with enough alloy to fill it 3/4 full. When it starts smoking and stinking real good go out and light the fumes, you now have the perfect set of circumstances to reduce any tin back into solution, stir it while the oil is burning, enjoy the BRIGHT shiny alloy you will get with very little skimming!
I've rendered down WW and used used motor oil for flux, made beautiful ingots

Thanks again, Mike
Oil vaporizes well below 600 degrees
Those who would trade freedom for safety deserves neither and will lose both
Wait for the wind to be blowing toward your liberal neighbors, then turn it on, and let it smoke itself out.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
