    LBT Ogival Wadcutter

    Hello All,
I made a pile of LBT 310 OWC GC today and wondered if anyone had any feedback on this style of bullet. Thanks in advance. Boats

Excellent hunting bullet like most all LBT designs, load 'em up and go hunting.

Beautiful pile of bullets there! I don't know anything about the OWC profile, but I can say that I love the way LBT molds cast.

Got one LBT mold left, the one for the Model 1892 French officers' revolver.
Reckon I just wouldn't take for it.

    Post script,
Would love to have a lever action for it, brass formed from 32-20's.

I have never hunted Africa so I have no idea of how many feet of animal it would take to recover one. They penetrate like nobody's business.

I use the LBT 250gr OWC in 45 Schofield brass at 1200fps and under 23kpsi it is PERFECT for the medium framed Rugers, this is my woodswalker load and will likely be my only pistol hunting load from here on out. I doubt there is a better 250gr hunting boolit for handgun distances on thin skinned game in the eastern half of the US.

Out of a rifle, those 310gr OWC may be good out to 100+yds, possibly to 150 if you can impart enough spin to them, they would have to be pushed quite hard out of a slow twist barrel to be decent at 100yds, out of a 1:20 barrel you will see your best results methinks, and possibly enough accuracy to reach 150yds.
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? What is the difference between the LBT OGW and a Ranch Dog WFN?
