    Big Birds

I was sitting here last month when a Great Blue Heron landed on my roof. By the time I got outside he was 1/2 mile away but my neighbor confirmed the sighting, it had been raiding her pond for gold fish. No pictures though.

This guy showed up last week. Doesn't look right for a Condor, Eagle maybe? Lighting was poor and I didn't have a long enough lens but he is huge. Live Oak leaves are just under an inch wide. Any ideas what he is?

Condors are a So Cal bird, are they expanding their range. Turkey vultures are common through out the West, even here in Idaho. They do tend to 'flock', two or more members.

Looks like a Bald Headed Lead Eater for sure, he knew you had some lead, thought you might throw him a couple wheel weights!

We had two blue herons raiding our koi pond 3 years ago. Until I put up netting over the ponds, the darned birds got away with 6 koi....BIG ones! I was hoping to catch one in the net!

Who would have thought......herons in the desert SW.

There are a couple places here where they roost by the dozens and homeowners really dislike the droppings they leave.
Most of the tanks are gone and the windows don't rattle anymore. I won't be able to sleep now.
