Have gun prices gone up ??

Have gun prices gone up in your area yet ? ...
Here in my area have noticed on armslist a particular model I have been watching has jumped 150 bucks from normal pricing !
All this as expected with today's situation we are all dealing with.

    Absolutely.

I was shopping for a new bolt gun when all of this started. I was ready to order when the seller sold out so I went back to shopping and found selection quite thin and prices up significantly.

You can ask what you want for a gun. If the demand is there, a buyer will give whatever one asks. It's certainly interesting times we have. Same thing happened during obama's term ie, Sandy Hook, et al, and now some have high priced guns they will never get their money back from, if that was their strategy in the first place.

I never did get a chance to sell any of my hoarded terlet paper or hand cleaner, did you. Isn't it strange what us American citizens will do to each other in times of need.

Yes, the last 6-7 weeks has brought about a steady increase in prices for semi auto handguns, AR's, and ammo. Especially 9mm ammo.

YES. Everything has gone up under this virus BS. Meat prices have gone up almost 25%. Food in general has gone up. Guns have gone up. Just pay what you have to to get what you want in these dark times and don't complain.

I bought a Colt/Walther 22 1911 not long ago. It was 335 OTD. Now he has them listed at 360. Same with my SW 380EZ. I got the range kit with mine. 400.00 OTD. Last i checked they 400.00 just for the gun. His Ruger wranglers have been the same price since they came out. 200 OTD.

i don't like(cannot describe my feelings, family channel) "plastic" on my rifles. so i gravitate towards older rifles and actions. its wood and blued steel for me. i luv the older mausers and krags. back years ago, when i was in US Army, i'd had my share of semi and automatic weapons, including "soviet" weapons too.

Of course! First rifle I ever bought for myself was a 1898 Mauser built in 1917. I got it for $100. I might be able to get one like it for ten times that, now... but maybe not.

Wilco is right , give away money there is a cost and part is money is worth less , yes prices are up , I see guns on gunbroker where people are paying a premium , no thank you , prepare ahead and the time for preparing was before this started , every time a panic or shooting or unrest or election it does this .

Definitely gone up in this area. Not just gone up but gone. In one large gun shop in our area, you have to take a number and hang around to be waited on. As for ammo, it's gone too. Two gun shop closest to me simply closed their doors rather than listen to all the complaints. What surprises me is is the lack of demand for reloading gear. When Obozo was elected the warehouses were cleaned out. I see presses and lube sizers being offered on the S&S section for prices that hardly covers the shipping cost. As an example there was a Lyman 450 sizer that sold recently for $45. Shipping on that item would be $20. I have five of those sizers and I have no problem with them.

Supply and Demand. Supply is down and demand is up. Prices are high as a result. Buy low and sell high. I will not sell anything right now because while I have what I need, I will not be caught short just to make a profit.

Yes, and sales, promotions and rebates are non existent right now. It will be interesting to see if the usual sales, rebates and promotions are around just before the Fall hunting season. If the November election goes sideways things will be at crazy levels we have never seen.

I agree with that and can't help but wonder what laws the left will introduce in an attempt to get all of our guns. I think it will be their top priority.

    Supply and demand . . . .

We all complained about shortages and high prices when Obama was in . . .

Gun manufacturers have bee shut and/or limited in regards to production because of virus , , , just think how Uberti, Pietta and others whose products are made in Italy will be affected as Italy was hit hard with Covid 19 . . .

Now add on the panic purchases caused by the Left ONCE AGAIN with their Socialism "Progressive" Movement and support of riots, looting, arson, injury to others and wanting to do away with Police . . . and even those that never thought they would own a gun have purchased one for home/self defense . . . I know of at least four that I have known for years . . .

I checked the website of a LGS back in Michigan last night . . . one that I have done business with for years. In normal times, they have an on-line list of used guns that offers a wide selection of makes/calibers/types. Their listing shows their display cases of used handguns must be down to a small one - they still show a few used rifles and shotgun, but a bare minimum compared to normal times.

A short time ago, seeing where this was headed, I decided to place an order for powder and primers with a large supplier. I checked the availability of powder on a Sunday night - got ready to place the order on Monday morning nd was, but wasn't surprised to see how many had sold out over night. Fortunately, I was able to get a supply of powder that I use as well as some primers - not "hoarding quantities" but enough to add to the small quantity I had on hand to keep shooting. Today, I had time so I decided to check a number of the large suppliers to see what their supplies looked like. All seem to have fast dwindling supplies of powder and primers with a great many "out of stock". I was not able to get small pistol primers in my order as the suppler was out of them and it looks like they are about as scarce as hen's teeth regardless of the brand you like or where you look.

The saving grace for me is that I do have a supply of BP and musket caps so I can always use my Smith
Carbine to shoot - but even percussion caps are non-existent at many of the suppliers when it comes to #10s and #11s.

People can put the blame for the shortages and higher prices on the Covid 19 virus but that is only a small part of it. The law abiding citizens - both those of us on the right as well as many of the "silent Left" who disagree with the radical socialist Left and the violence have a genuine and lagitment concern about what is going on in this country. Just this past week, a radical and corrupt DA in St. Louis got a Jeft Judge to issue an order to have the guns of a couple seized and confiscated from a couple who were trying to defend themselves and their home from a radical mob, some armed with weapons who had broken into a gated community, threatens to kill them and their dog and take over their residence. An illegal seizure as pointed out by a number of DAs. It has now happened once - it will happen again. The question is how much longer will the lae abiding citizens - regardless if Right or "silent Left - put up with those who are promoting the Anarchy, Socialism, violence, etc. before "enough is enough"? The Socialist Leftists want to tear down and destroy our Country's history but they would be well served to learn from it instead. After all, there was a real reason why the Japanese chose not to invade our country during WWII - the armed citizens.

    It's getting crazy.

Decided to try a Beretta APX Centurion in .40 S&W after stumbling across a thread extolling their virtues and incredibly low price of $299 to $350 online and in stores.

Went online to buy one and couldn't find one anywhere. Found a few on Gunbroker.com in the auction format with bidding starting at $300. Put in my bid at $355. Checked the next day and didn't win. Not even close. Gun went for $445. MSRP for that pistol was $399. I have NEVER paid MSRP for a firearm, and I sure as heck am not going to pay $50 over MSRP for an unpopular pistol in an unpopular caliber.

I have plenty of guns and if I have to wait a few months to try out the APX, then fine. If things never return to normal, then I'm good with that as well.
