    Hi tek out of ar15?

I don’t see them for sale but does anyone shoot hi tek coated out of their at 15 in 5.56? I would think 300 blk wouldn’t be a problem with subsonic loads if shooting 5.56 what boolits and load? Velocity if you have it thanks

I think the boolets would be going to fast and lead the bore. With pressures to operate an AR. My PCC'S i get leading in the muzzle brake when shooting coated cast. In my 9mm and 10mm one. The 40sw and 45acp. No leading in the brakes.

Tons and tons of folks shooting powder coated gas check bullets out of 223/300blk AR15's. Never used hitek in mine because of the solvents and multiple coat needed thing. But, Shake-n-bake powdercoat will do it in both cartridges just fine at close to jacketed speeds in all of my AR's. Type in powdercoating 223 or 300blackout in a youtube search. Not a huge thing to accomplish.

I shoot 130 rcbs spitzer gas checks out of my 3 blackouts with a load that pushes them to 2000fps which is near factory ammo levels with good accuracy and absolutely no leading. Shake and bake though. I have no experience with high tec.

Is anybody doing PC or coated boolits from an AR10, at anywhere close to jacketed speeds?

I tried PC vs HT in my 6.8 running about 2000fps, no gc. The HT gave dismal accuracy at that vel. So I hold the HT back for handgun loads under 1500fps.
