Not trying to hijack the thread, just add to it. Anyhow about 8 years ago I bought some Winchester 303 British ammo at Walmart. First couple of rounds were ok, and then the funny noise. Shooting them in my old No4 Enfield. I had mostly bought the ammo for the brass, but it was new ammo. I caalled Winchester, and they had me mail the split brass case and the remaining rounds in the box. No long after that I got a $50 gift certificate from Wnchester good for any purchase of Win. ammo. As you can tell from the pictures, the split was just above the web of the case. It did not damage the Enfield at all.
