I have shot several thousands of cast 230 Round nose .45ACP out of my Thompson (Semi_Auto). I use water hardened Wheel Weights (older with more antimony content); or Isotope Containers for lead (96% Lead, 3% Antimony, 1% Tin) once again water quenching to get hardened bolts. Had no problems - of course I am not a "High Volume - Short Period" type of shooter. Take it out and let the Grandkids shoot it on occasion. Heavy enough they will shoot a few rounds; then take a break; rather than SHOOTEM UP like the sons used to do.

Shot thousands of rounds in full-auto Thompsons, #452374 LRN cast from air cooled wheelweights with 5 grains of any fast-burning pistol or shotgun powder you've got, Bullseye, Red Dot, 700X, 452AA, all work. Never had any leading issues with RCBS Green or Perfect lube with the air-cooled bullets sized .452

I shoot a lot of 200gr H&G 68's out of mine with no issues. Saves a bit on lead and the way it likes to eat them up any little bit helps. Recoil is minimal and fun to shoot.

Outpost has it right!! 10's of thousands in fun switch mode- same bullet, same random fast burning powder. Although I do have to say that a 1921 shaves lead like crazy in the feed ramp, but I've never had the heart to modify it.

Reach out to Mike Venturino here on the site. He's got quite a bit of experience with full auto cast boolits

I have used Unique and 230 grain round nose cast and 200 grain round nose hollow point out of my semi auto west hurley thompson , also have shot 185 swc , it seems to feed all of them fine for me , fun to shoot , heavy , no recoil .

Mine worked fine with cast RN boolits. Didn't like SWCs. No leading. I used straight COWWs.
