    Sure, they should, but you know what, I don't see anyone of those rioters fearing any laws. And yes, once they broke into private property they become rioters, not protestors. Once you feel your life is in danger, then confronting that danger trumps any brandishing laws. Here in TN, if you use a firearm to defend your or someone else's life, then no civil or criminal charges can be applied against you.

    I think you have the wording wrong. In the case in question you can be sure because of the politics of the moment, charges would be filed with maybe even steep bail. Politics being what they are maybe they could get a lot of financial support so that their defense does not drive them into the poor house.

    They could always do what Zimmerman did and becomes an activist public figure. Not being convicted does not mean you don't get punished.

    May 24, 2018 A court allowed George Zimmerman to use a public defender in his alleged stalking case after he filed documents saying he's $2.5 million in debt and has zero income.

    Use great care if you decide to use the "I was afraid for my life" card.
