    Collet neck die for 7.62x54r

    Good news for Mosin loaders.

Many of us have been irritably using a .308 collet neck die shimmed with a handmade washer to resize 7.62x54r brass (myself included).

Lee has (finally) come out with a collet die for the Mosin cartridge.
    Titan has it in stock.

    I got a set yesterday.

I was after them to make these since 2005. They always could be had but you had to pay extra. Now hopefully they set it up for 0.310" bullets. Their regular dies were always sold and made for 0.308" bullets and over worked the brass. You had to get a 303 Brit decapping rod to make it work right. But it still sized the neck down to a 0.308" size. The 303 expander just pulled it back to the right size

    Took them long enough!

They probably stuck with the .308 size, too bad!

They did stick with the smaller size mandrel. However, there is an oversized mandrel available; the one for the .303.

I got 2 sets, with 2 oversize mandrels.

Lee custom make the collet neck size dies. You send them a few fired cases and a few bullets then make one to match. last I checked they were $70 for the custom die.
On the 7.62x54 die, it's been out a few months. I recently got the newest Lee catalog with the APP press I bought. They were listed in there. Most of the online places didn't have them yet, Lee had them in stock.
I have Lees 3 die set. They don't list the collet die by itself yet. I can't see paying for the extra die.
