I think I have some unprocessed, I would have to look to see how many, if you are interested. I thought I had some, but can't find them. Maybe I sold them.

Yes, I too converted 30 carbine brass to 7.65 French Longue. I haven't ever made short cases longer either - but I know it is done!

There's no other cartridge that matches 30 carbine dimensions that I know of. Starline is your best bet for brass rare that they are out of stock. For loaded ammo there's a place in my neck of the woods Target Sports USA that has decent prices on ammo and if you buy a case free postage.

And what`s REALLY fun with the .30 carbine is when you have to hunt up the fired brass when you fire the one with the"Mickey Mouse" button.Hehehehe.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Guys forget about the 5.56 as a donor, I have a shortened case and I tried it in my Universal Carbine.

Did not even come close to fitting the breech face, I didn't even try to size the diameter of the case down.

I apologize to anyone that got their hopes up.

Hmmm...evidently I need to go out to my bench and pick up all the Carbine brass that's laying out there....if I can find it. I stopped shooting semi-auto's very much or loading for them 40 years ago. I got real tired of chasing brass real quick.

I didn't know 30 carbine was that hard to find. Most of the larger gun stores seem to have some in stock. I ended up with several hundred loaded rounds and even more empties with nothing to shoot them. Maybe I can find a TC barrel to use them.
An add in the S&S section would probably result in finding some brass.

I like the idea of trying this out to see if it can be done. Strangely, the shelves at the local Stock & Field (used to be Big R) had nothing on the ammo shelf but two cans of Korean M1 Carbine ammo and a dozen boxes each of 450 Bushmaster and 350 legend. The carbine ammo was $466, they were quite proud of it clearly. The shelves have been bare for five months.

Last Friday a LGS had Cases of Aguila and Wolf .30 Carbine ammo. $23/50 for Mexican; $20/50 for Russian. It's out there.
