Anyone sign up for a census job? I worked it back in 2000 so I figured what the heck. I filled out an application online, then I got an email that said I was accepted for a position. A few weeks went by, then I got a phone call and they did a phone interview. I gotta say, everyone I spoke with on the phone was friendly but their accents were very hard to understand. OK, I got the job, minimum of 20 hrs per week, in my area. Then I got an email that said I had to be fingerprinted. I picked the location from their list, and the time, and that day I drove 25 miles or so to the specified location (about 15 miles north of Boston). The email said to wait in my car until someone came out to get me. OK, I pulled into the lot of the nationally known hotel and began looking for signs to tell me where to wait. Nothing. No one around. I drove around the large building a few times...nothing. No one. No signs...nothing. I went home.
I got an email that night that said I missed my fingerprinting appointment.
Two thoughts:
1. It's a scam.
2. If it's legit, they're so friggin' incompetent that I don't think I'd work for them again.
