WTB or borrow one 43 Mauser brass

Want to buy or borrow a piece of 43 Mauser brass. I want to see if my "new to me" rifle will feed, chamber, and eject it before buying more.
If no one wants to sell any, I would pay shipping and return after function checking my rifle.
    Thanks, Dan

    I did a chamber casting with Cerro-safe. I'm fairly certain it is 43 Mauser / 11x60r.
Just want to see one fit before spending 4 bucks a pop for brass.

assuming you have already bought reloading dies, you can easily make cases out of 45-90, or even 45-70 (although they'll be a bit short)
I shoot both and haven't had a problem with either one.
I wouldn't buy 43 Mauser brass even if that's the correct chamber
45-90 brass is 87 cents each on midway, 45-70 even cheaper.

I might have some cases that have split and are no longer useable.
The Bertram 43 Mauser brass is really nice.

    Der Gebirgsjager, PM sent.
Thanks for all of your replies.
Dogmower, I was under the impression the 45-90 heads had to be turned down in some way to work well. Also, if you do make the brass, do you anneal the full case, or just the top half?
johnly, I was planning to buy Bertram brass.

In my experience, and I've used both --Bertram brass and reformed 45-90 brass--I can recommomend biting the bullet and buying the Bertram. A buddy of mine who's a brass scrounger just gave me twenty Canadian .43 Mauser cases so I culled all my remaining 45-90 cases (all nine of them). You can have them if you want--either answer with a post or a PM. Pete

just need to round the lip on the bottom edge of the rim. My rifle feeds them ok without doing that, but I didn't want to put wear and tear on the extractor. I never anneal the base of any case - that's just asking for trouble. Actually, there's not much working of the brass going on, so I don't anneal at all for this one, but then again, I'm starting with new starline 45-90 brass. It's really an easy case conversion, especially if you have access to a lathe.

This is a really good reference book if you're going to be doing any type of case conversions. Well worth the money
    Good luck

If all else fails I can probably send you a 1888 fired GI case -- might still have one converted to shotshell primer --
