My Mosin likes Tula the best. It groups tight with it. The PPU it opens up to 5 inch spread at 100 yards. Don't know if yours will be like that or not. But it's something to keep in mind.

Yeah i reload the PPU too. The reloads are no worse in the accuracy. I load speer hot core .311. My Mauser loves them though.

I have a lot of Mil. surplus style new ammo.
But the range I go to won't let you shoot Steel Core ammo.
So I reload for my rifles , or I pull the steel core bullets and reload the steel cases with jacketed Bullets or pistol powder and lead cast boolits

Have you slugged your barrel? I suspect it is probably shot out like mine.

Powder Valley has loaded ammo, though they're currently out of stock on brass.

I bought my PPU brass from them a few months ago, think I got the last 3 bags in stock.

In my experience, PPU was the worst and my handloads were the best. I tried milsurp, it was better than PPU.
But then members here told me they had good experience with PPU, so I have no idea what went wrong.

I have a couple of MN's that shoot Mil Surp stuff Real good.
But others are all over the target wilh Mil Surp or PPU.
All rifles shot better Hand Loaded with whatever Boolits and powder that rifle liked.
You really have to take time and work up a load .
That is not a problem for most shooters, because they have only one or two rifles of that caliber.
But when you have 15 different rifles , it will take up lots of trial and error.
It all is a matter of bore condition and Size as well as chamber dimensions.

My 91-30 shoots the same with no matter what I run though it. Its to the point where it was more cost effective to use spam can ammo since I got a ton. Im not bad mouthing it, because it shoots good with everything. Even my cast loads shoot the same as jacketed. Now my Finn M39's are a different story.

As suggested do a search it’s out there, but the cheaper surplus ammo is harder to find. And a bit more in price also. Best bet is to reload your own.
