    240 Belted Nitro ( apex)

I am currently making 240 Apex. This case requires a Belted 30/06 or a case similar in size. I am currently making Belt cases. there have been many Threads about this.
With the help of CH4d , they were able to produce a single dies to produce
Enclosed Photo . These cases were fired Brass. the final project will be New brass , Formed and polished
    Enclosed a photo

I'm not familiar with that cartridge but seems very similar to the 240 Weatherby, minus the double radius shoulder. Would bet it is the perfect flat shooting medium game rifle, especially with some of the premium " mono" bullets being made by most everyone now.

The 240 Apex was designed By Holland & Holland In the early 1920. They chambered it in the magazine rifles and some double rifles. It was not a popular round in the US. I was the basis for the 240 Weatherby ?
another similar Cartridge was the 242 Vickers but without the belt

Does it take quite a bit of effort to swage the belt on the 06 case?

With the right Die you can Get it through to the bottom. You also need a strong press. one was formed on a Herters Super O. the other was an RCBS IV. In both cases You need a Lot of good lube and a lot of Pressure. The cases were Used , Polished and resized in 30/06 die first.

How much pressure does this round produce , very interested , was looking into forming belts on 30-06 cases for another project but was afraid 60,000 psi would cause separation at base of case , any input is much appreciated

I don't understand what you mean about pressure. The 240 Apex has the same power as a 243 winchester. since English gun makers seem to do everything strange. this is one of there strangest of the lot. Holland & Holland has been noted to want to always set themselves apart from other English manufacturer
Another example is the 244 Vickers basically the same case without the belt

I like the idea of loading for something "oddball" but when checking out dies and equipment I think the 240 Weatherby is the cheapest option even having to buy brass and 240 dies are a dime a dozen, second would be the 6mm- 06, give it the Ackley treatment and you duplicate 240 ballistics, but big buck for dies again. Just saying for an old timer like me, now 30 years ago I'm right there with you.
