I used it for years on leather boots I was wearing in snow. Using a heat source when applying really helps.
If you want the leather to be soft and supple, don’t forget Ballistol.

Pretty much all I ever use! This is the best time to apply it 😋 — Put a liberal coat on boots — including tongue and welt above soul — and place upon a newspaper rested on my truck’s hood during a very warm sunny day.
BEST I’ve ever used!

Sno seal is a very good product. The downside is that it reduces the breath ability of boots to a point that is a problem in warmer weather. My feet sweat a lot anyway and Sno seal puts me in misery when it’s warm.
Great for a winter only boot! I live in what is a northern desert as we get about 7” of precipitation annually, most of that in the winter.
In the summer we are dry and hot. Summer temps regularly break mid 90’s and often 100 degrees. Boots worn in that setting needs to breath and the occasional wetting can be handled with something like olive oil which does not repel water but does maintain the leather’s softness.

No one carries Sno-Shield that I see, glad it sounds like its still made. I have 2 in my stash
Sno Seal will waterproof leather, but doesn't contain oil products that will cause the leather to stretch. Leather products that contain substances like mink oil can result in stretching of the leather. If you need to break in a pair of boots, leather gloves, or leather shoes that are tight, then apply some light mink oil product, but don't continue with it after the break in period. Switch to a non-oil waterproofer.
Same thing, mink oil causes leather rifle slings to stretch.

I used to use Sno-Seal on mountain boots until I found Biwell.
When used on boots for kicking steps in the snow, Biwell lasts twice as long before needing reapplacation.
The old Sno-Seal cans were great for lighting on fire to liquify the contents to apply to boots in sub 32° weather
Now I use Biwell for all my leather that needs waterproofing.
Biwell is great stuff, if you can find it anywhere.
Works great for waterproofing boots. I have used it for years. Warm up your boots by the heat register vent, apply and your good to go.
