    WTS: .45 ACP shotshell brass

This is NEW Brass that was made by Starline. I adjusted the necks to accept cut down .410 shotcups. OAL is pretty consistent at 1.285 (shorter when crimped) which is about as long as practical for all of my .45 autos and also works well in .45 revolvers.

I made up a bunch of this and after a while realized that I had made several lifetime supplies worth at my rate of usage, and put a bunch down below the bench. I just came across it, and figure I'll make some room.

If you want to become revolver skeet champion, then buying the RCBS dies is probably the way to go, if you just want to load up a handful of .45 shotshells for snake control, this is probably easier.

Using this brass, cut down .410 shot cups, and .410 over shot wads, you can load shotshells using standard .45 ACP dies with a RN seating stem. Recipes and procedures can be found here and elsewhere on the web.

This is all that I have for sale, I'm keeping the rest of what I made for my own use. This is NEW unfired brass originally made as blank brass, and so headstamped, but is properly heat treated and uses a standard flash-hole, so is safe for normal pressure loads, and is reloadable the same as any 45 shotshell brass made from other cases.

I have ten 25 piece lots. Price, including shipping is $25 per lot.

Just to clarify, did you make this from new Starline .308 blank brass?

Excellent Question! I should have clarified. This brass is made from a custom run of .45 Auto Blank brass. The newer blank brass they make uses a .140 flash hole, the brass I used has a standard diameter flash hole. I don't know how much the FH size matters in the shotshell loads, but it is what it is. The Headstamp is "45 Auto Blank"

    What the brass looks like:

.410 shot cup trimmed to .925":

Shot cup seated in the shell:

Filled with #12 shot (120+/- grains):

    The shot load:

Finished round, crimped lightly over a .410 overshot card (I usually seal it with glue as an extra measure):

I also use these to make shot loads with a Star crimp using a card wad over the powder and no shot cup. The star crimped shells hold more shot, but aren't reloadable:
