    Emblem adhesive

The manufacturer's emblem on my truck has come off.
Any suggestions as to the best adhesive to use to reattach it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
After thorough cleaning/de-greasing, I'd probably go with a Silicone based adhesive as it has a little give and flex and should withstand vibration a little better than a rigid adhesive like JB Weld.

3M's 'super weather strip adhesive' is the old school stuff that a lot of body shops use.
Auto parts stores usually carry it.

If it’s flat and 1/2 in or wider you can get 3m weather strip adhesive tape. But don’t Freak out When you hear the price. Best go to a body shop and ask them to glue it on. A roll is probably over 100$ now

I've got to advise against silicone adhesives. A car wash brush or water jet will scrape or blow the emblem off. There is a double sided tape made for glass to glass antennas, that keeps those stuck in place. But... I bought mine at Radio Shack.

    I like it.

I have a dash camera mounted on my pickup windshield using the supplied suction cup attachment. It works fine in temperate weather, but when it gets hot out, it falls off. I tried several adhesives, including silicone and other products designed as automotive adhesives and all failed over time. I finally got some form-a-gasket adhesive, smeared a layer on the inner part of the suction cup, and it's been in place for more than a year.

Get the 3M VHB It comes in different widths. It is the best double sided tape there is. Do not use the weather strip adhesive. It dries hard and will come off. I used to sell all of the 3m products to body shops. The VHB tape is the correct application.

You might be able to buy a small roll at walmart in the auto section where the bondo and the small vials of paint are for chip repair

I second the idea of having a body shop stick it back on.

This is the way to go! Do NOT use any adhesive like weatherstrip adhesive, to many of them eat into the paint or stain it. They are also messy and run and drip dry hard and the the emblem falls off and your stuck with the glue on the paint! Use the tape!

My left Cummins Logo is glued on with 3m weatherstrip. Took a direct hit with a granite cliff and is still there. It's stuck on there For Good.

They make a body panel adhesive. I used it to attach flares to my Tahoe. It takes a special gun and isn't cheap but it will hold. Body shops glue while panels on with this product.

VHB tape, can get it from amazon and the stuff has 100 uses but it IS expensive. A 5 meter roll was ~$20

    3m weatherstrip adhesive. #08001

I worked at a carparts jobber 40 years ago, and still remember the part number. That's how much of it we sold.
