Used to fry Spam up in the field with my Sterno stove. Roll off key to flip lid back. Slice even with can top, bend back & fry slice in lid. Top with liberal amounts of Tabasco. Make mocha with 2 hot cocoa packs, 3 instant coffees & 2 sugars/creamers. Good USMC breakfast .

I don't think I was ever on a Camping, Hunting, Fishing trip with My Dad that we didn't have Spam at least once.
Still eat it after thanksgiving. I mean ya got that white bread and all for turkey sammiches and all.
Fried thin and stacked with american cheese and mustard on white bread. Once a year.

    Spam
We in hawaii grew up eating spam.
Still eat it at least three times a week.
Fried in a pan, cooked on a grill, raw in ramen.
    We get the low sodium.
    Also cook with it.
Mac cheese and spam, turkey spam casserole, spam and green beans, baked spam.
So many ways to cook with it.
My favorite is still fried spam and cheese sandwich.
We call it the potagee steak.

Hey do they have spam flavors "Tocino" or "Boricua" in HI ?
I think they are the same flavor, just different labeling? but I am not sure?

"Boricua" is said to be Puerto Rican style
    and
    "Tocino" is Filipino style

They are not available in MN

Smoke-flavored SPAM...............Cut the SPAM loaf in 1/2" thick slices, put in ziplock bag with a couple lid-fulls of Wright's hickory smoke concentrate liquid flavor and let it sit in the fridge a day.

Best smoke meat taste without the fire! Smoke flavor goes all the way thru.

Crisped up some SPAM this morning after reading this thread. With some melty mozzarella on a corn tortilla, it was awesome!

I have seen the Tocino, but not sure about the Boricua.
I'll check next time I go shopping.
I normally stay away from the flavored Spam.
    Haven't liked any of them.
Have you tried Spam flavored nuts?????
I see it from time to time.
It does have a slight Spam taste to it.

Kid got some yesterday for Her old Dad. "Smoked" Spam it was pretty good.

Sliced half the can into 1/4" slices, couple eggs and sourdough toast.

    A good breakfast this morning.

Spam in the boy scouts, spam in deer camp, spam on a couple of tuna trips. I haven't had spam in years, but you know you are in Hawaii when spam is on the Denny's Menu.

The black pepper or the jalapeño spam is pretty good!

I make 1/4in slices, sear till browned & slight crisp, put on toast with mayo & cheese! 😛
