    for thought and meditation

    cloudy and rainy here....

    Yes—But…!
    By Oswald Chambers

Lord, I will follow You, but... —Luke 9:61

Suppose God tells you to do something that is an enormous test of your common sense, totally going against it. What will you do? Will you hold back? If you get into the habit of doing something physically, you will do it every time you are tested until you break the habit through sheer determination. And the same is true spiritually. Again and again you will come right up to what Jesus wants, but every time you will turn back at the true point of testing, until you are determined to abandon yourself to God in total surrender. Yet we tend to say, “Yes, but— suppose I do obey God in this matter, what about…?” Or we say, “Yes, I will obey God if what He asks of me doesn’t go against my common sense, but don’t ask me to take a step in the dark.”

Jesus Christ demands the same unrestrained, adventurous spirit in those who have placed their trust in Him that the natural man exhibits. If a person is ever going to do anything worthwhile, there will be times when he must risk everything by his leap in the dark. In the spiritual realm, Jesus Christ demands that you risk everything you hold on to or believe through common sense, and leap by faith into what He says. Once you obey, you will immediately find that what He says is as solidly consistent as common sense.

By the test of common sense, Jesus Christ’s statements may seem mad, but when you test them by the trial of faith, your findings will fill your spirit with the awesome fact that they are the very words of God. Trust completely in God, and when He brings you to a new opportunity of adventure, offering it to you, see that you take it. We act like pagans in a crisis— only one out of an entire crowd is daring enough to invest his faith in the character of God.

    have a great day!!!

I will love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind.

    Great message. Faith requires courage.

    Deuteronomy 31:6
6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

    Go in peace
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

Great message. God created this world, and all that's in it, including what we call "logic." But He isn't bound by these rules. He simply gave it to us so that we could learn and grow, and do so most easily and consistently. But He is above all that's in this world, and He himself doesn't have to abide by what we call "logic." He can do whatever He wishes to do, and it is, ipso facto, righteous because it's Him who did it! And if we don't always understand what He compels us to do, that's just natural. If we have the courage and faith to simply do it, He will show us, in the end, just why He wanted us to do it. Oftentimes, we just need to realize our place in God's scheme of things, and God's place, and follow Him unreservedly. And when God speaks to us, it always seems to be in a whisper. Satan is the one who shouts his will for us! Being quiet enough in spirit to hear His whispers is the key to following Him consistently. No fear, no concern for tomorrow - just simple complacency in the knowledge that He is supreme, and our place is to simply follow Him, no matter where He leads us, or what He asks of us to do. We serve a risen savior. Does anyone know anyone who's conquered death, or risen up to Heaven as Jesus did? If not, it simply makes sense to follow Him implicitly, doesn't it?
