I am looking for a Ideal or Lyman “575-213 OS” bullet mold with hollow base pin that is in decent shape and reasonably priced. This mold casts the “Old Style” Minie Ball that is approximately 460 grains for the .58 caliber rifled muskets. This is NOT the 575-213 Ideal/Lyman mold that is the “newer style” that casts an approximately 505 grain Minie Ball. The 575-213 OS mold that I am looking for casts a Minie Ball that closely resembles the original .58 Minie from the Civil War. If anyone has such an animal that they would part with, please drop me a PM.
These blocks take a Ideal/Lyman “Large” set of handles – if you have a mold with the handles, I would be interested as well as if someone just has the set of mold blocks/base pin, I’ll have to find a set of handles as well.
I am recovering from some major surgery on my foot and ankle and am hoping to locate one of these molds so I can start casting up some Minie Balls to have on hand here in AZ.
