50 bmg / 50 cal military crimp removal

Dose anyone have a cheap tool / idea to remove military crimps from 50 bmg primer pockets.

I've dont want make the bevel too much?

Check Dillon, they used to make a primer pocket swagger and I believe C&H tool. Probably alittle spendy for a few cases. I'd find the size and try a hand reamer.

I tried one cheap tool idea. I bought the little RCBS cutter with 10-32 threads that goes on their case prep machine & chucked it in a cordless drill. Didn't work well at all so I got Wilson's 50 BMG case trimmer & their 50 BMG primer pocket reamer. It does a perfect job with no danger of deepening the pocket. It does put a nice bevel on the pocket but it's not cheap.

Lyman Case Prep Multi Tool for 50BMG at about $70

I picked up a taper reamer at a pawn shop for a few $$ and took my dremel tool and cut off the end so that what was left would just fit in the primer pocket. Chucked it in the floor drill, on slow, and just hold the case in a glove and push the primer pocket into the reamer. Just get used to how long to hold it there to cut out the crimp.

So I just used my rcbs case prep machine and cut the dam crimps out.

What a pain but I now have some loaded 50 bmg

647 grain pull down bullet
200 grains of HB 50 bmg powder.
I did a lower starting as this is shot for fun right now not accuracy.

Once I find a cheaper source for projectiles then I can build up a better load.

Few years ago, GONRA verked on a large quantity of Scrap Dealer .50 BMG brass.
Ended up with lottsa scrap, BUT 1200 properly prepped cases:

First made an case dial indicator wall thickness measuring setup. (First class - "a roller & a ruby"!)
Used here for internal stretch ring detection. (Lottsa brass scrapped in this step!)

Resized raw cases with Triflow Synthetic Grease case lube (bike shops have it) - older CH dies on an OWS Rock Crusher Press.
Proper headspace? Checked with case gage on a "Granite Chek" dial indicator setup.

Made an "internal post swaging setup" for my Corbin CSP-2 press to swage primer pockets. (Doesn't screw up case rim! !!!)
