    WTB Affordable 38 special revolver

Looking for an affordable 38spl revolver to pack around the farm. Brand is not that important as long as it is a solid gun. Prefer 2in but will consider others. Wanting to keep cost down. Let me know what you have

Damn that’s tempting but it’s a bit more gun than I am looking for.

Dig around. There used to be Police Dept. turn ins on the market pretty cheap.

You could find Colts and S&W revolvers less than 1/2 price of new ones.
They had holster wear, but most had hardly ever been fired much at all.

I would look for an S&W 10-5 or later. Easy to work on, parts readily available. Used revolvers plentiful and affordable. A 2-inch, six-shot, round-butt, steel-frame version weighs 26 ozs. My EDC.

Rock Island makes a nice 38 that resembles a Colt snub nose! Around $200+ new!

For the money, a Rock Island 200 or the snubbie version(206 I think but not sure) would be hard to beat. Usually around the $220 or so. james

I bought the same pistol from "Grab A Gun" a few months ago for $199 and it has been a good weapon for the money.

I have a Taurus 85 air weight stainless 2' barrel new in the box. I bought 3 and I carry one and I gave my sister one. Don't need to keep it. It is a dream to carry. About the size of a 36 Smith. Weighs less than a pound with no boolits in it. All stainless no plastic. $325. + 20 shipping.
