Congratulations to those keeping up with the ..'Reading the bible'..thread above in the stickies . You have completed the book of 1 Corinthians . I had to change the audio version because the last one I was using is not working at this time . I'm checking it regularly and if it starts working again I'll revert back to it . Thank you all where ever you are in the thread for reading the word of GOD .

Thank you Pine Baron . It's been a commitment . I talked to GOD a lot before I started posting ..Reading the bible . I knew the length of time it would take and knew it needed to be consistent . I couldn't allow it to fail . My biggest concern was with my medical conditions and my age being able to finish it . But there have only been a few times I couldn't post during short spells in the hospital . I was blessed that Ronnie (RL69) stepped up and did it for me . I in turn helped him with his ..Thoughts and meditation thread when he couldn't . I still have concerns that if I become unable to complete posting it will not be finished . As I said...I took this on as a commitment .

I did a lot of praying and seeking GOD's help before I started . I talked to Preacher Jim , and others here . I asked which version of the bible would be best . The universal consensuses was one in plain English . I personally use a King James but had no problem (within bounds) using another version that was simpler to understand .

Next was the time frame to use . I never intended it to be a 'speed' reading of the bible , I see no benefit to that . I settled on a chapter a day , though I think it a lot to digest even at that . Anything slower would have been tedious to people new to the scripture . I considered putting up another thread to go with it to attempt 'explanation' in the sense of supporting scripture . But I decided that would be too divisive between different church groups . Plus being a fundamentalist I support each person to explore GOD's word in their own way . I accept the fact that we are given different ways to worship him . Our strength is in the combined faith as believers . Of anything I say or do here in the Chapel is to encourage the reading of GOD's word . To understand , to seek counsel , to believe and to increase your personal relationship with GOD .
