    There is different types of composite decking/lumber( trex) and then all plastic decking/lumber(Azek). The composite is garbage, but the all plastic holds up well. That said, we used treated wood structural lumber and Azek decking on our deck.

    I have a work bench almost exactly like that; mine has some angle supports, and is made with 150 year old white oak from an old recycled barn.
