    WTS - Sears Winchester 70 in .257 Ackley Improved

    This is the Sears version of the Winchester Model 70. Started as a .30/06 but the barrel was swapped out for a Model 70 barrel that had been rechambered to .257 Ackley Improved. Nice condition with a good bore. Barrel profile is a little smaller than the original so it doesn't quite fill out the channel. Has scope bases. Haven't shot it in years so ready to move it along.

    I would like $300 plus shipping for the rifle. Figure shipping on about 10 pounds from 33947. I use USPS. Requires an FFL and I am a private citizen so will include a copy of my ID with the shipment. Payment by Postal Money Order or Cash please. Thanks for looking and let me know if you need more info.

    The only notes I have on this are from Feb 2014. A fireforming load with an unknown brand 100 jacketed bullet shot a 50 yard 1/4" group with several others less than 1" and Nosler 100 grain jacketed shot into 7/8" at 50. I loaded up some more ammo but apparently never took it out again.

    I do have a set of lee dies and probably a few cases that can be used. I usually hang onto this kind of stuff "just in case" but if its a deal breaker I'm sure we could work something out. They are not included in the current asking price.
