I use Guntap pins and they work great. I was wondering if I mixed the chips with pins if that would do better??

Third on that. I use southern shine media in my tumbler. If brass is super dirty, I run for an hour with just a few drops of dawn. After an hour I rinse it out and start with fresh water, a few drops of dawn, and 1/16th tsp of lemishine (measurements based on 1qt water). Run for another hour and the brass looks brand new even in the primer pockets. If brass isn't super dirty, just do the water, dawn, lemishine for 1.5-2hrs.

Is there different sizes of chips? And is there a prefered size?

The chips come in one size.

They don't get caught in primer pockets. They don't get caught crosswise in the base of the brass, and from my experience they do a better job.

I use a media separator to get them out of the brass and it works like a champ.
