    Lyman Tru-Lock Scope Rings?

I just found a set of Lyman Tru Lock rings. They are 2 piece affair. Look brand new and they don’t fit Weaver bases. I didn’t realize that when I bought them. The Ruger #3 posts got me to fooling in that stuff. I have a 1950 Shooters Bible and they aren’t listed are they newer or older? I would like to get a set of bases for them for any popular rifle
Maybe made before factory D&T? Need some kind of base to use them. Any info on these appreciated.

    .

It looks like the Tru-Lock rings should fit a dual use rail, like the ones for the Ruger 10/22 that has two male grooves lengthwise - one for full width Pitcanny/Weaver rings or 3/8" rimfire clamp-on rings.

No, the bases are some kind of patented affairs. The ring is locked with same screw the locks the middle section to the base. Base has different profile and must have cut out in base for locking surface. I’m going by copies of advertisements and pictures ain’t that good. I’ve never had any and it looks like they were made in 50s to 60s? Was hoping someone had experience with them. They are well made, steel and not near as bulky looking as Weaver type rings. I have Weaver rings on a couple dozen guns. They were the standard at one time. If scopes come off any thing the Weaver rings are not going back on.

Gun Parts Corp has a one-piece base for $6 to fit the Winchester Models 88 & 100. It could easily be modified to fit another gun, or cut into pieces and drilled to become a two-piece base.

This is a link to the part.

P.s. From the picture it appears you will have to cut the cross slots yourself anyway. I've done it with a file myself, and it was easy and didn't take very long.

There is no cross slots in a Lyman Base. I’m going to Numerich site and look for that base. I must have missed it. Do you know what it was under?

Found them, they have quite a few and cheaper by $9 than eBay. Now have to find a base chart.
    Thanks

I have a set of those in my cigar box of scope rings, they are odd! I was hoping some to run across a base for them someday.

Lyman Tru Lok rings and bases were marketed in their catalogs in the mid 1960s. I never saw any of them.

There were several other Weaver wanna be designs back then.
