    Federal 200 Small Rifle Primers

Have a feller locally selling off some of his Dads old reloading supplies and one of his items are some way old Federal 200 Small Rifle Primers. By the current references #200 are small pistol magnum primers.

Are they worth grabbing? All I load is .233/5.56 with Small Rifle Primers

If the price is right and they've been properly stored, I'd grab them and use them with no worries.

Federal 200 compares to the military .30 carbine or 9mm primer, having a cup of base metal thickness 0.018+0.0015/-0.000"

It is used for factory loading of .30 M1 Carbine, 9mm +P, .357 Magnum, .222 Remington.

IT IS NOT SUITABLE for loading 5.56mm in full charge loads to military specs as the thinner primer cup WILL puncture and may be subject to slam-fires if the AR bolt carrier is dropped upon a chambered round.

For .223 Rem. and 5.56 use Federal 205, Remington 7-1/2 or CCI M41 primers.

As far as I know, the Federal 200 now is the same as it always was. It used to be called a small rifle primer. All that has changed is the name. I don't think those are terribly old, that looks like 90's era packaging for Federal. I would buy them if the price was fair.
