Was wondering if the hp mp185gr
    Hp,mold

I see where i can buy a 68 hg clone, and get it with hp pins.
Has anybody here tested this for accuracy?wondering if the hp,,is more accurate, then solid?
Trying to convince myself, that i need that mold,,😁

I have both the HP H&G #68 mold and the solid H&G #68 mold. Both produce fine bullets. As for accuracy, that will vary from one gun to the next.

The hp version of the mihec #68 clone tends to do a little better then the solid nosed version on the 50yd line.

In .45 your only going from a 6 hole solid to a 4 hole hp so a 50% reduction in output but I’ve not found that the hp moulds themself are any slower to cast with than a solid just less bullets per pour.

To me yes, quality over quantity along with accuracy over blammo ammo. That being said I normally cast with only 1 hp pin in my 4c mold. The majority of my 45acp/target loads are on the 50ft line anymore.

No reduction in output for me. Both my hollowpoint mold and solid mold are 4 cavity molds.

I ran a test between the 4 cavity MP 68 clone Hollow Point and the 4 cavity regular MP 68. Timed by a stop watch, on two separate days, I cast for 30 minutes with each mold, alternating from the first day to the second which one was used first. I found that I could average about 10 hollow points for every 12 regular per minute once the molds were up to temperature. Every so often, a boolit will hang up on a pin for a little bit and that slows down production slightly. I do not own a match grade .45 but in my Sig P-220 I could find no difference in accuracy between them.
