What do you use to dry tumble for powder coat.
I read several post on the subject using airsoft BB's and comments about building up static,
I can use some method descriptions. what type container works the best
Thanks Dave

Glad I could help. I was where you are once. Smoke is a good guy so just PM with any technical questions, I'm sure he will help you or check this thread out too.

Thanks again, I have a couple pounds of powder coat coming from him.

I really like the cool whip container for its size and the way it works [make sure to keep a finger on the lid]
I also like emptying the containers LOL
any container with a #5 recycle mark on it should work. I prefer larger containers because I can do more boolits at one time.
with any container, don't use too much PC (a couple of teaspoons is almost always enough) and do at least 10 - 12 boolits at a time to ensure static and coverage.
Not all PC's need ASBB's or poly pellets but I feel they help get a smoother coating.
twist lid containers from Safeway/Albertsons and Wally world under a different name

I hope they shoot good. My casting is getting better with each time I make bullets.
Do you clean the bullets befor PC.
As long as you dump the boolits on a clean service no need to clean them. I have dumped on a wet towel and cardboard box just something soft even though i work on an aluminum bench top. Don't dump in water or you could have contamination. Once the pile of boolits is cool I just place in a clean container or small box until I'm ready to PC.
I like to dump freshly cast boolits on a folded towel with a piece of plywood by the pot to set molds on
IF I'm not PCing soon I will put the cool boolits in zipper bags to keep clean
When the humidity is up I use one of my countertop ovens set at 150° to warm and dry my boolits before PCing
Thanks for all the help.
I pick up some #5 plastic containers with the twist on lid. That might be a safer bet.

wally world has Rubbermaid round containers that are a bit bigger so I can do more bullets at a time
snap lid but hasn't been a problem for me.

I recycle a number of different sizes. Large round ones from 28oz pretzels, medium square ones that peanuts come in, small ones that the wife's yogurt.
The large round ones I keep sorted brass in one for clean and one for dirty. Square ones I keep 380 brass and 38Spl. The small ones I keep my cast bullets in, raw and lubed.
I then also have some nice plastic trays and aluminum trays that we get from a couple different carry out restaurants, they work well for sorting trays after the range.
