a few of my buddies were discussing this, would seem to be better for those of us who like to load heavier slower cast bullets, but would it overstabilize light jacketed stuff like 125 grainers at carbines high speeds? I thought 1:16 was more of a revolver type twist?
The 16" twist will be fine with lighter weight 357 bullets, even at top end carbine velocities.

Colt used that 1/16 twist in the Python. I am thinking our Dan Wesson is 1/18.
But like Larry said above it works fine in a carbine.
Ever heard anyone grip about the 1/10 twist in caliber 30 rifles ? 100 years + and the 1903 still launches 110 grainers just fine.

'Over stabilizing" is only a problem for extreme range shooters. At say 1000 yards, the over stabilized bullet has dropped a lot, but it's still horizontal. That leaves an oblong hole in the target. It's only a theoretical problem for the rest of us.
