Yes, I have been casting and shooting his 280 WFN for over 20 years and it shoots great. The deer autopsy above was with a 280 WFN that I had cast for another person and it performed exceptionally well. My bullet is gas checked but it really isn't needed though. This 280 WFN is what I carry in my 4 inch Model 29 .44 Magnum for when out in the country or river bottoms just bummin'.

My .44 special hasn't had too many rounds sent through it yet...I've invested most of my time on the .45.

I took the so-so bullets cast before the mold was really warmed up, to fire-lap this gun. It's the only one I haven't fire-lapped, and I admit it's because this flattop is my favorite gun. I wanted to be sure fire-lapping really helped, but the benefits were so obvious with my other revolvers that I had to do it to this one too. I used my super dangerous supply of blank powder with just enough to get that boolit out of the barrel...

Once I finish this, I'll try the good bullets with regular loads. Can't wait...
