    Savage 300 Black Out

I am thinking of getting a 300 Black Out rifle
Either a AR 15 or a Savage bolt action in 300 Black Out

Yes I know I can just get a upper in 300 Black Out or a barrel and stripped upper and build one
Also another AR 15 isn't on the top of my list

But as I seem to be liking the low rate of fire and many times better groups of a bolt gun
I shot a friends Savage rifle in 300 Black Out

It shot great , BUT he just buys factory jacketed ammo

So I figured I should ask

How do the Savage rifles in 300 Black Out shoot cast at sub sonic ?
Also when I get the paperwork back
I plan on a Can for it

Any problems with the Savage rifles in 300 Black Out ?

ive got 3 ar15s and a ruger American 300 bo. The American is kind of cool because it uses ar15 mags and it is very accurate for a cheap gun.

I have one of each platform, AR, Bolt Action and single shot. My bolt action is a Rem. 700 with 1:7 ROT the single shot CVA Scout is 1:8 . The bolt action shoots subsonic into 2.5” @ 200 yds using 240 grn.Sierra MK’s 8.5 grn of Blue Dot. I don’t use cast in the 300 B/O ,to much fussing with no improvement in accuracy.1:8 will stabilize 220 grn bullets at subsonic speeds. The Savage should prove to be a good rifle for most everything the cartridge will do, the can will only make it better. Fortunately the 300 B/O doesn’t have a gazillion different interpretations of SAMMI spec’s and chambers don’t vary a lot just ROT . Fun cartridge that does a few things very well .

I was in that mode a while ago but don't like bolt or break open - wanted a RB or FB. Got a single load mag instead. Pistol powder and cycle by hand. Rifle powder and just drop the next one in the slot, drop bolt and go. Would even work in the field hunting! Only thing detrimental in the AR is bolt moving affect recoil.
    Whatever!

Have owned several Savage Axis in 223 and 308. All solid guns but, last Axis I bought was in 300 BO and I could not get a magazine to stay in mag well. Messed up feeding and when firearm was shot, mag dropped from front. Traded off.
