    Helper in the reloading room

Had some help tonight and last at the reloading bench. She decided she wanted to cast her own bullets and powder coat them. Then this afternoon she decided to reload them with just a little bit of help. I think she’s also planning a hog hunt sometime soon. Lol. Click image for larger version.

Not too bad for her first time by herself. They looked a little better before her second coat of powder coat but she was running the show

I still remember the amazement in a friends voice some years ago when he told me that my daughter, who came to his house to babysit, saw him in his reloading room and said "Oh, looks like you are sizing 429421's." She was asked how she knew that and she said "I size those for my daddy! "

Good job. We need more young folks doing stuff like this. My grandkids jump at the chance to help in the loading room. Keep it up.

All good, but I would not encourge her casting or being around that part of the process....semi-dangerous for a kid (more so than adults) plus lead related health issues for children, use caution. I would have liked if my kids (now even as young adults) showed as much interest.
Take a kid to the range, you'll both be glad you did.

IMO it'd depend on HER maturity level; Some kids can handle casting at age 9-10 (I was handling the family's reloading then.) Some can't handle reloading at age 50+. If they have impulse control problems that could be bad. For me it's sort of a meditation to reload, pretty relaxing and then you get to go shoot the results

My kids learned on the RockChucker when they were just 'spuds' back in 75...now the grandkids learn on a turret...

    Precious memories!

Had a long dry spell there, something like 30+ years, so my kids missed a bunch of that. Getting back into it now, and hoping I can interest the couple of kids that still live nearby. Not much hope of grandkids, so far. I'm an adult with Attention Deficit Disorder, but there are things people like me can focus on just fine. Reloading is one of those things for me. Though 30 more years of maturity and learning coping mechanisms might just help a bit.

You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
