Got bored , decided to make a rear sight for my 94 marlin .
I'm going to call this version a proto type .
I used brass simply because it's easy to work with , And I don't have a have a dovetail cutter for my mill . I used a end mill to rough out the slot , then finished them in my shaper .
It took a whole lot of time to get thing fitted together properly .
When it's finished it'll have hidden screws to lock in wind age and elevation .
And the blocky looking part on the right is going to be thinned down and shaped a bit , And it'll have a screw in apature
I think I might do a winged sight protector to .
Eventually I want to do one in steel and brass accents but I don't want to spend any cash on a dovetail cutter at the moment.
And the little tiny single point cutter I use in the shaper is probably to delicate to use .
It'll be a day or two before I can finish it , I need to get some 4-40 grub screws but need a better excuse to go to the hardware store.
