    Customize Ruger No. 1

    Hi Folks,

If you know of a gunsmith who does nice custom work on the Ruger No. 1, I'd like to know about him. Thanks.

    Take care, Tom

    .

I know Regan Nooneman does excellent work:

And I've heard good things about this fella:

    Steve Durren
    Johnsons Sporting Goods
    Adrian MI.

I've heard Steven Durren works on Ruger #1's. I can say that he built me an extremely fine highwall schuetzen rifle. It's the nicest rifle I own except for originals.

Back in the days when I could travel more I spent time with Steve and I can say he’s a talented gunsmith and a first class kind of guy. I’ve seen his work on Rutgers as well as other single shots... in fact, when I first met him he had just completed building a copy of a fine German single shot based on pictures and sketches...he had to reverse engineer it without any dimensions to go by! I recommend Steve without any reservation.
