    Nuwax substitute for wet tumbling

I've got a rock tumbler that my daughters don't use anymore so I've switched to wet tumbling. However I kinda miss the nu-wax polish on the shiny brass. It just seems to help keep brass shiny (and easier to find).

Is there a substitute for nuwax that one can use in a wet drum tumbler?

Use the Nuwax in your wet tumbler.

I've had good success starting with Dawn and LemiShine, then switching (with a rinse) to ArmorAll Wash'n'Wax and LemiShine. Cases are beautifully bright, do not tarnish and are smoother going into a carbide sizer die. Bet the ArmorAll stuff is similar to your Nu-Wax.

I use a car wash liquid soap that has wax in it, with a little lemon shine. It works beautifully, definitely more shine than dawn.

Mine get rinsed in the ArmorAll wash wax to. They sure run better through the press with the wax on them.

    OH MY
Don't do that, NuFinish is oil based, will not mix with water
If you're skeptical put some in a throw away container with some water.
Doing that will save you from cleaning the mess out of your tumbler

Edit: Yet another wet tumbling thread, expect much repeated bloviation about "my" method that mirrors every other wet tumbling thread...

Size/Prime a few cases when starting off with a progressive and put them aside. You can plug them back into the process when a bad/odd case screws up in the priming station and continue loading.

I must have mixed my tumblers up. I've done it dry and lately wet.

For brass that looks like it took a trip to the jeweler's, I wet tumble using 1 ounce of wash and wax and 1/4 TSP lemi-shine.

I've tried all brands of auto wash and wax, and I can't see any appreciable difference, at least in my experience.

I read one post a while back where someone added NuFinish to the wet tumbler and the batch came out a real mess. I haven't tried it, I've only read about it. Maybe others who have actually tried it have had different experiences...

For storage since I have the dry media and full bottle of nu finish I will toss stuff in dry tumble with some polish if the brass will be sitting around. Getting loaded generally won't bother. Getting stored until needed might as well protect that wet tumble shine.

At some point I will probably pick up some of the wash n shine product. Save me some work. Not that tumbling brass is a lot of work really but having it done in one shot would certainly be more convenient.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Citric acid to get the brass clean and bright. Armor All Wash & Wax for the shine and to inhibit tarnish during storage.

Two step process: dawn and Lemi shine with stainless steel pins in hot water, then rinse with hot water and add Turtle Wax Zip Wax. Brass is then air dried and no problems with water spots or dulling of brass. Best looking brass.

White vinegar and Dawn for the final clean but just dawn for the first wash. Brass look factory new.

It might be useful to know that Nu Finish is not a wax. Best to stick with the known safe products mentioned above or run the brass in a vibratory polisher with corn cob and Nu Finish for a few minutes just for the long term protection after it’s dry from wet tumbling.
