2009 RCBS Pro Melt on E Bay

Was anyone watching the auction for the RCBS ProMelt on E Bay that ended at 9 Central time tonight?

Mfg date was shown as 2009 in new never used condition. Guessing the date would have placed it during the time RCBS was buying it from an independent company in Indiana? Not an expert on bottom pour pots but since I tossed my Lyman 25 in the trash last week I've been looking around.

Could never get the Lyman to stop leaking.

Final bid on the RCBS Pro Melt was something like $495

Casting and reloading equipment on Ebay has gone crazy. Older 3 hole Lee Pro1000 presses have gone for over $300 not including shipping. When this scare is over their will be a bunch of gear for sale at low prices.

I would like to find an older RCBS pot but they are pretty scarce. I got around to cleaning out my old Mag 20 yesterday and lapped the rod and orifice to stop the drip. Cast a bit yesterday evening ,no drips, nice full stream. Been looking at the new Mag 25 pots, some good reviews, some bad. I gave up on RCBS producing a usable bottom pour setup. Seems like they are bent on giving Lyman the edge.

I agree, $495 is crazy! I would add $100 more and buy a Magma pot. I do like my ProMelt but............
