    6mm GC on a 22 cal bullet

Just wondering if it’s possible to use a 6mm gas check on a 22 cal bullet - say 225 or 226? I’ve got 1000 6mm gas checks but no 6mm gun. Wanting to get into casting for my 222. I’ll keep the 6mm GCs if I can use them otherwise pass them on with my mould and sizer die...

Should work. 6mm is .236 inches. Should work fine.

sorry I should have been clearer - they’re for a 6mm, so same as 243.

I have used 6.5mm gass checks on a 6.8 mm bullets and vise versa.

You can measure the thickness of your gass check shank. Then measure the inside and out side of diameter of your gas checks. You will find that most often class of bullets have the same diameter shank. Only thing different is thickness of the material the checks are made out of.

As long as the check fits and has enough thickness to crimp it will work just fine.
