    Which Mould?

My son-in-law bought a S&W M&P in 40 S&W and wants me to cast boolits and load for him until he can learn to do it himself.
I have been thinking of this mould for him.

The .40 is rated at 35,000 psi, is there a gas check mold out there that’ll work in the .40?

I have a Lee 6 Cavity 401-175 TC. No problems at all. Turns out great boolits and plenty of them in a short amount of time. You will pay considerably less than you would for an NOE mold. I have NOE molds too and love them. But for this case I find the Lee does the job well for less.

That NOE is a really good mould! I have it with all of the HP pins and love it. I have 5 or 6 40's and they all eat it from 1911's to steel Witnesses to MechTech.

I have this one with the groove but PC it. No gas check available.

I like it because the hp gives me various weights from one mould.

I have this mold. I use it in my 10mm loads. It's a great boolit. I also have this one http://arsenalmolds.com/products?pro...d=67&limit=100 but it's a bit heavy for normal 40 Short and Weak.

I use Lyman 401043, 401638, and 401654 (all plain base molds) for both 40 SW and 10MM. I get perfect performance with these plain base molds with max charges in a 10MM either PC'd or lubed with 2500+. I don't hot rod my 40 SW's but I can't see why a GC would ever be necessary. I started out casting with the Lee 401-175-TC for 40SW but moved on.

Looks like some good choices here.
Going to be hard to decide!
