    hi guys...for the collectors i have a few i can't identify , HELP!

    that is ....help please!

i have the "cartridges of the world" book and the c-d that comes with it.
    and several loading manuals

    none give very good pictures.

and i'm having a bit of trouble i.d.-ing a few
i'm sure you serious collectors won't have any problem with these.

by the way....i also have a case that looks like a .44 special with the head stamp of "MSA PIPE PRESS" can't find anything on it.

got about 6 more soon as i can get pix.

    thanks again. mike

I think #2 is .41 Swiss rimfire and #3 looks like 8mm Lebel. Not sure about #1

Agree about the Lebel. That’s what I thought when I saw it.

I looked up the 8mm Lebel as that is what I thought when I fist saw it also. There are slight differences in the measurements listed on the picture and the cartridge drawing that I found. The case Rim diameter is listed at .634, the sub rim diameter is .543". The rim thickness is listed as .079. The case length is listed as 1.996". The shoulder diameter is listed as .457". The overall cartridge length is listed as 2.967". Cartridge variations could easily be off a little on the picture as well as on the listed dimensions. james

I believe #3 bottom is 8x56R / 8x60R Portugues Kropatschek. The top Case may also be the same or possible Lebel

    #1 looks like a 50-60 Peabody.

I have a box of vintage 41 Swiss. This round is:
    rim: .626"
    bullet diameter at mouth: .428"
For the round to feed properly from the magazine, the OAL has to be 2.21", which this is. That's the giveaway.
