    Neck up 225 Winchester

Steps suggested to neck up 225 Winchester from 22 caliber to 6mm?

Dunno why not, J.D. Jones necked up .225 Win to 6mm, .257, 6.5, .270, and 7mm...and SSK still offers Contender barrels in all those calibers.

I had a 6mm-225 in a Contender rifle barrel. Just ran the case thru the die, no problems.

I have necked up hundreds of 223 cases to 7mm TCU over the years. The key is to lube the inside of the neck heavily. You might also find that the brand of brass makes a difference as well. It doesn't apply in your case but for me, the best 223 brass to expand was S&B so whenever I found a batch of used 223 S&B brass on the ground at the local shooting pit, that was me doing the "happy dance" (not a pretty sight). Federal and Winchester resized OK with few cracked necks but not as well as the S&B.
