    Networking works

A few weeks ago,I was talking to a fellow that I know that is a roofer.Mentioned lead.Said he would keep an eye peeled.
Today I was gifted about 30 or so pounds of lead sheet.Great way to end the week.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Lucky you! Nice to have that kind of friend. Invite him over to see how you turn that into boolits. He may keep it coming after that.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.

My local metal recycling yard had loads of sheet lead for cheap, unfortunately they are now closed to the public

    I wish!
Its been years since any of the yards around here would sell to the public. Big corporations have bought all of the small mom and pop places or have put them out of business. They won't even let you walk around and look when you are there selling stuff.

I've got a plumber that gives me all of his cast iron pipe when he re-plumbs a house. I've only been working this source for about 3 months now, and already have 42 lbs. Pretty good, steady source of lead.

There's a pretty big metals only recycler here that trades and sells to the public, but I realize that I've dealt with the owner and his son. Hopefully when the dad retires, the son will continue the same policy, and hopefully they won't get bought out by some mega corporation.

It’s sad that all mom and pop type operations in general, have been taken over buy big business.
